1945 Dow
Brick red with a distinct brown tone; 80% opaque. A little volatility on the nose at first, sweet and slightly almond-ey. On the palate this is mature but powerful with generous levels of spiced and lively fruit - lots of raisins and mace. A lovely, lovely port. 94/100. Drunk 26-Sep-16. Decanted 5 hours.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
