1994 Quarles Harris

Slightly dirty nose with a bit of a baked fruit tone. A touch of dirt shows on the palate, which is initially hot and peppery but settles down to give an attractive depth of modest fruit. Warm - even hot - aftertaste leads to a good, flavoursome finish. 87/100.

Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
