1960 Ferreira

Deep mahogany red colour, 80% opaque. Rather alcoholic on the nose with lots of leather and tobacco and huge amounts of old book dust. Balanced on the palate, but subdued and with less impact than either the Harvey 1962 or the Sandeman 1946 drunk alongside - a little woody and awkward by comparison. Sweet and modest on the finish. 86/100. Drunk 14-Dec-16.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
