2016 Bulas
Dark crimson colour, opaque. Ripe blueberry on the nose, intense and concentrated. Smooth and sweet blueberry fruit on impact, with the mid-palate showing powerful but well-rounded tannins and a well judged balancing acidity. Such rich fruit on the palate, sweet and powerful. The huge tannins grip very firmly on the aftertaste but eventually give way to a rich and full blueberry finish that lasts a very long. Fabulous Port; rich, sweet fruit and very powerful tannins. 93-95/100. 16-Apr-19.
Top Ports in 2022: Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port. I cried with joy.
2023: Fonseca 1966. There are not many better Ports, except a good bottle of Fonseca 1927. Wow!
