A8: An edgy, lanolin nose. Slight plastic note? Same on palate with a high toned citric edge. Something not right with this bottle?

Sweet red cherry nose. Chocolate and red cherry on the palate, doesn't have the depth of others. Ok

Deep purple with expressive nose of black fruits a little spice on the nose. Dry, slightly thin and just a little fruit. Slightly bitter aftertaste. 86.

Not as intense as other ports from the vintage but is this a bad thing? Raspberries and violets, I found the alcoholic nose interfered with the bouquet. Finishes medium, so for me 15/20

Tasted blind. Deep red in colour, with a hint of purple. Wonderful fruit driven nose, full of blackcurrant. Thick texture on entry bringing fragrant fruit on the palate, fruit which is ripe and wrapped around a well structured tannic core; the whole is rich and fragrant. Sweet fruit aftertaste with just a touch of greenness to the finish. A nice Port, but a little uneven across the palate, but this might settle down with a few more weeks in the bottle. 87-89/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
