B2: Not dissimilar (to previous port, the Noval). Bright sweet fruits but with more concentration on nose and fuller tannin. Grippy acids. Good intensity and concentration on palate with firm tannic finish. Longer term prospect? {Noval Nacional)

Not much on the nose for me here, red fruits in the palate. Nice tannic structure that suggests it may age a long way into the future. I'd like to try this once the 17s really hit their strides in a couple of decades. Good

(sighted tasting) Deep purple beautiful expressive nose, stands out with spice. Refined palate, smooth fruit driven refined great intensity nicely balanced. A beautiful wine. 98pts. I tasted this again later (Blind): Red fruit, good balance clearly a wine for the long term with plenty of structure and tannins - all the hall marks are there of a great wine - Nacional? 97.

Tasted blind. Deep in colour, an intense red. More limited on the nose that the wine shown alongside (which was also blind, but was later revealed to be the Noval) but still showing elegant fruit. Wonderful silky entry giving a lovely texture to the wine on the palate. Delightful fruit that is pure and elegant yet comes with considerable structure: big but very ripe tannins backed by generous perfumed acidity. This Port has so much flavour and so much complexity. Simply stunning. 97-99/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
