G66 (late release), decanted 14:00. Glorious red, 50% opaque. Palate had red cherry; lovely sweetness; great length and balance.

Written from memory the day after the tasting as my notes have been lost. A late released bottle, one of only 66 bottles released ex-cellars in 2016. This was thick and voluptuous on the palate, full of sweet Graham dried and spiced fruit. Lond and lingering flavours helped to create a wine which was both memorable and yet lasted for too short a time having to be shared between 13 people. My joint top wine of the night alongside the Dow. 94/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
