2011 Marks and Spencer

Post by jdaw1 »

M&S11, made by Quinta & Vineyard. Solid 100% purple at centre, red-purple at rim. Nose has exotic fruit, perhaps pineapple, also sweet absinthe. Palate has heft, dominated by lots of tannin, balanced by some acidity. The same sweet absinthe is there, with red plums. This is a good Port, edge of shutting down, needing twenty years in the cellar.

Cork is printed not branded. Slap!

Quite possibly Quinta do Romariz or a specific blend make specifically for M&S
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

I think it is a specific blend for M&S. There is a thread from 2017 which mentions it.
