30% opacity, red-copper, yellow rim. Sharp nose, red fruits, concentrated. Smooth silky entry, then a dryness kicks in, dried citrus plus leather - a complex range of flavours in the finish which has great length.

A bottle supplied by the tasting organiser, Tony Carter of Vintage Wine & Port.

Rose red colour, 40% opaque. A gentle nose, driven by the fruit. Thick texture, light red fruit which grows nicely fragrant – and keeps growing to reach quite a crescendo of wonderful roses. Some heat on the aftertaste and a lingering rose, sweet but nicely balanced with a lingering finish. 87/100. Tasted 23-Oct-19. Decanted 7½ hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
