Ex-cellars bottle from Quinta do Cachao, courtesy of Miguel Perreira at a tasting organised by Tony Carter of Vintage Wine & Port.

Deep red, mature and lovely in tone; 50% opaque. Soft sweet fruit on the nose, a little restrained but what emerges from the glass is sweet and floral. The texture on the palate is good, the flavours balanced with lovely fruit, sweet and clean. Gentle and delightful. 89/100. Tasted 23-Oct-19. Decanted 9 hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
