50% opaque. Slightly high-toned nose. Showing younger than its age. Consumed with AHB, CPR, THRA, and guest OJW on 07/10/19 at the B&F.

A wonderful mature appearance, 40% opaque. Lovely on the nose with lots of secondary fruit, but fruit which is still clearly red despite the secondary tones. A wonderful pepperiness to the fruit on the nose. Mature and slightly spirity on the palate with light but fully mature fruit. The texture is wonderful, smooth and silky. Rich raisins and golden sultanas add depth to the palate, sitting alongside some liquorice root. The liquorice continues into the aftertaste and the very full, very perfumed redcurrant finish. Served blind, this was guessed to be Fonseca Guimaraens 1967. 93/100. Tasted 07-Oct-19. Decanted 11 hours.

Tasted as part of a Bring a Bottle tasting at the Boot & Flogger.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
