RV45. Dirty yellow, 10% opaque. Very acidic — perhaps pineapple. Light. Not a good bottle.

10% opacity, pale yellow-amber, clear. Nose of extracted citrus fruit, apricots. Mature concentrated apricot fruit. Later this tasted more oxidised, more akin to a colheita.

UK bottled by Robertsons. A top shoulder fill but a very poor colour. Honey amber colour with a hint of apricot in the tone; 20% opaque. Tired nose, oxidised but showing a little apricot. Soft on the palate, oxidised but not as badly as the appearance would lead you to believe. Plenty of acidity on the palate, sweet and slightly cloying with plenty of apricot, sweet and slightly thicker in texture. Vibrant acidity keeping the wine alive. Lots of heat on the aftertaste, but a big aftertaste, peppery and with plenty of dried apricot. Much better than expected. 84/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
