Provenance - the first of two bottles purchased at Schipol Airport in September 1997; cellared by me since.

By coincidence, I’m taxiing to depart Schipol as I read this!

I could use a good photo of the Canais '91 label if possible please?

Opened and decanted last night at 1800. Level was base of neck. Nose was OK and dregs tasted fine...

PhilW - will forward some photos.

CkC91. Drowned in vinegar acidity. George: “remarkably undrinkable”.

Very light colour. Acetone nose, which didn't clear with time.
Palate slightly better than nose, but not much. Very acidic.

Suspect my 2nd bottle won't be any better. To be opened soon.

Mature, evolved and very light in colour; 30% opaque. An horrific nose of VA, which Nick Archer charitably described as ginger. Too much VA on the palate to appreciate anything else this wine might have to offer.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
