Re: 1970 Graham
A lot of varnish on the nose. A hint of heat along with the strawberries in the palate. Long warm finish. I got it as Graham but thought it much older than its age - 1948?
Re: 1970 Graham
30% opacity, rich amber orange, clear. Cedar on the nose. Rich, syrupy mouthfeel, cedar notes, extracted orange, some spice in the finish.
A bit of an unusual G70 - if I hadn't opened it myself, I would not have guessed Graham. This bottle seems to have aged a bit more than normal. Improved considerably in the glass during the evening, so maybe a longer decant next time for the rest of this case.

Re: 1970 Graham
Bottled by Berry Brothers. Copper red and mature in appearance with an ochre rim; 40% opaque. A little astringent and oxidised fruit on the nose; hints of burnt matches. Smooth orange caramel flavoured entry and a delightful texture. The acidity keeps the wine beautifully balanced, such a wonderful fragrant palate which is full of flavour and texture. Lots of orange in the flavours, but also delightfully sweet. The aftertaste delivers several phases and flavour, one after the other. Such a wonderful finish, such a pity the nose wasn't right. Served blind this was guessed to be Croft 1945. 89/100. Tasted 25-Feb-20. Decanted 12½ hours.
