A lovely red colour, approaching maturity. Opaque, with a narrow rim. Fresh herbaceous bramble fruit on the nose, a nose which is quite lovely. Assertive on the palate with heightened acidity wrapped in slightly jammy bramble fruit. Rich and flavoursome with generous fruit and gentle chalky tannins. A delicious aftertaste, full of grated dark chocolate and bramble jelly. Lovely Port, but still too young, which has a great finish that is full of flavour. 92/100. 17-Mar-20. Decanted 19½ hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
