Bottled 1973
Decanted 48 hours.
Clear brown wine. Looks, and smells, like a well-aged medium sweet Madeira - lots of VA.
Tastes more like very old Marsala fortified with green Chartreuse rather than brandy. Rich raisined fruit on the palate.
Very very long, slightly drier, finish of prunes and figs.
Enjoyable, and not in the least cloying.
I would not be surprised if this started life as a white wine, or, certainly, a wine with lots of white grapes in the mix.
