The current draft of the placemats assumes that the vintages are 1922, 1934, 1942, 1945, 1947, 1950, 1955, 1958, 1960, 1963, 1966, 1970, 1975, and 1977. Please confirm that this is as it should be, or correct it.

Julian - the confirmed bottle line-up (also excluding PW's 62) is:

1922 (Robinson & Payne) - THRA
1942 - CPR
1945 - TC
1946 - TC
1947 - IDJ
1955 - AHB
1958 - WPS via THRA
1960 - GEAG
1963 (Mayor Sworder) - NAC
1966 (Mayor Sworder) - THRA
1970 (Oporto?) - NAC
1975 - THRA
1977 (Tappit Hen) - The Symingtons

So, the 34 needs to come out and the 46 goes in.

This gives us 13 different wines, and the equivalent of 15 bottles.

Also, as there are no reserves this means the two Symingtons no longer have to share glasses and get a seat each.

I have covid. My pace of improvement in the recent few days has been positive, but only small positive. By next Wednesday, likely as not, I still won’t be able to drink at all, let alone in Port-tasting quantity. Sorry team: time to admit reality — the exhaustion is too much, and will still be too much.

Please don’t submit my food order. If I owe for costs, pls let me know.

Placemats updated to use names rather than initials. Also added PlaceName pages, so that the guests know who is who, even late in the evening. Because table space will be tight, the PlaceName pages are on A5. So printing will need three pages sizes: A3 (glasses), A5 (PlaceNames), and A4 (everything else).

This is the first time that PlaceName pages are on A5. Please report back, approving or disapproving, as appropriate.

I’ll have Welsh rarebit as a starter and a main of sirloin steak (medium rare) with skinny fries and green beans.

I’ve asked Anthony and Will to let me know their preference and will pass these on when I can.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Julian - perfect. Many thanks for sorting these. I’ll print as have access to A3/4/5.

Right, cost per head comes out at approx £200. A number of people are supplying bottles with a value greater than this so will be receiving funds. I’ll send out requests for payment on Sunday. Would appreciate a quick turnaround so I can get outbound payments sorted in advance of Wednesday.

B&F have sourced a 300g ribeye from Donald Russell. Does anyone want to change their food order to include this?

I’m intending to send in the food order this evening, so if you want to change it, or haven’t told me yet I need to know ASAP.

With the very sensible reintroduction of Welsh Rarebit to the menu, I will take a very cheesy one as a starter please.

Not previously noted, but suggest we aim to be sat down and ready to start at 1900 on Wednesday.

To speed things along can I request that people bring their bottles pre-decanted.

If you are bringing bottle(s) then can you aim to be there for 1830 so we can get them poured.

Haven't put the order in yet, and probably won't until later this afternoon, so there's still a chance to make changes.

The Warre 1955 will be provided by Anthony and Will. If there is the opportunity to change the wording on the placemats, that would be ideal.

If a space becomes available, and a bottle to adopt, I might be interested. I’m enquiring of my mother, who would need to babysit, just in case….

Julian’s space is still available. There are sufficient bottles so no adoption required, just a share of the bottle costs. Let me know ASAP.

Will do. Will be Tuesday morning though. My mum is even less of a night owl than I am!

More importantly though they've agreed to do Welsh rarebit.
