Great colour, a full rich garnet. Boiled sweets on the nose. On the palate full rich powerful raspberry - led port, quite dry, and excellent with a steak.

Reasonably dark red. Very nice Porty nose. In the mouth, lots of cherries. Longish-aftertaste. Very quaffable.

Mid to dark red. The nose was particularly enjoyable – almondy first, red fruit second. Palate was very fine, more almonds with dark cherries, which long continued on the aftertaste.

Dark cherry red colour, 60% opaque. A little similarity on the nose to the Warre, slightly soapy lavender - not too pleasant. A nice thickness to the texture, a hint of the soapiness from the nose amidst the generous redcurrant with a fabulous acidity highlighting the fruit. Slightly soapy tone to the lavender and redcurrant finish. A wine with a good length finish. 88/100. Drunk 20-Oct-21. Decanted 10½ hours.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
