NV Churchill White (Dry Aperitif)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Dry Aperitif, bottled in 2020. This was one of the bottles (50cl) in the Q1 2021 Churchill Port Club pack.

Deep apricot hue, 20% opaque. Served from the fridge this shows a little tinned peach on the nose, sweet, fruity and with lovely floral complexity. Medium bodied entry with a slight thickness to the texture. Big and rich flavours, peaches and mango with a strong minerality. Mango and gentle chilli heat on the aftertaste; a long warm finish full of lemon oil. This lives up to its “dry” billing but has not sacrificed flavour to do so. 89/100. Opened 24 hours but stored in the fridge. Drunk 05-Sep-21.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
