1983 Dow

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red, mature; 90% opaque. Sweet black fruit spiced up with ground black pepper. Lovely black fruit on the palate and some dark chocolate, some gentle menthol heat, bold and mouth-filling; a little VA adds a touch of complexity but is not excessive. Black fruit gums aftertaste, menthol heat, a little dark chocolate and black cherry. Good length finish. 90/100. Drunk 30-Apr-22. Decanted 3 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
