1970 Quevedo White Colheita (bottled 2021)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

I discovered a Quevedo 2021 Advent Calendar 9cl bottle hiding in the garage this afternoon, the 1970 White Colheita (bottled 2021). Deep olive brown, 60% opaque. Rich and complex nose, balsamic and citrus with just a touch of VA. Thick texture on the palate; concentrated, sweet yet powerfully acidic. Wonderful flavours flowing layer after layer with honey and grapefruit, molasses and pomelo. Hints of tannins on the long, wonderful finish. Still a Port which is just fabulous. 96/100. Drunk 24-Apr-22. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
