Wikipedia : “Louis XIV … was King of France from 14 May 1643 until his death in 1715. His reign of 72 years and 110 days is the longest recorded of any monarch of a sovereign country in history.” And
6th February 1952 + 72 years + 110 days is Sunday 26th May 2024. All being well, it would be fitting to note such a milestone.

I thought that it might be impertinent to invite Her Majesty, so have not done so.
A
respectful letter (
reply ) is anticipated, but that would be for nearer the time.

HMQ would be having a jolly good night out if she was able to attend. But I think she prefers off-dry riesling.

Good idea. Yes please. She also likes, I understand, Dubonnet. She has a good chance of making it, I think.

Think it’s likely that we may be having a tasting for a different reason but yes, I would be up for this.

The sun king was of course only 4 when he came to the throne, so did not actually rule for so many years as the early ones were subject to a regency.
On June 12th - six days time - Her Majesty's reign will exceed that of the late king of Thailand, Rama IX, making her the longest reigning adult monarch of a sovereign state in reliably recorded history..
..cause for an emergency??

That is Susanna's birthday. I expect she would like to come too. Charles will be getting on a bit. Fingers crossed.
