George Sandeman has written, saying that the first edition appeared on Portuguese TV! RTP (their BBC), in a segment about our favourite wine and the Platinum Jubilee, from 01:29 to 01:32.

Any thoughts on a more picture based book? 2/3's picture, 1/3 descriptions. Would have a broader appeal.

Just that. I (and I assume everyone else that ordered the book) received an email saying the book has been printed.

The first edition was fantastic, and on reading the email, I'm quite certain that the second edition will be even better. Looking forward to getting my hands on it. Many thanks to Mr (Dr, clearly worthy of a PhD) Wiseman for such a fabulous book.

The printer has sent me a speedy copy, the others being transported more slowly. And it’s fabulous. The pictures are brighter and higher resolution than in the first edition. The paper has been slightly lightened, both colour and weight, but is still properly opaque. And the author (says this entirely neutral observer) has done a great job: 635 pages of the first edition has become 700 pages of the second: more Vintage Ports, more detail, more ancient tasting notes of Ports for which you or I might bid at auction.

Mine has arrived - it looks and feels excellent. The Book is also particularly attractive w/o the dust cover, which is a nice touch. Many thanks, Julian.

I was trying to log in and check the status of my order since I have not yet received it, nor have I received any sort of shipping notification.

A different link sent to me earlier from tracking.controlport.co.uk seems to indicate that there has been no progress on my order since the original email was received last March. But since I cannot log into Academie du Vin Library I cannot check it from there.

FWIW I was in the same position when people first started receiving their books; I was able to log on to check, and status was still the same from March. Then the next day I received notification it was being sent, and received it the day after. Hopefully you're in the queue still.

Port Vintages now takes up a considerable amount of space on my book shelf: Edition 0, 2 x Edition 1, 1 x Edition 1 Deluxe and 1 x Edition 2. I need to start thinking about what to throw out in preparation for the arrival of Edition 3

That is very cruel. I only know of two missing wines which the author has drunk recently. Not enough to justify a third edition.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

The warehouse of the Académie du Vin Library is having an IT disaster, and re-sending many emails.
Please disregard that email. Our fulfillment partner is updating our ecommerce channel integration and it appears there was a slight oversight on their behalf. The system re-sent notifications to customers on orders already processed in the past. I can reassure you that these orders will not be processed again and the glitch has been fixed immediately.

Thank you for letting us know. I simply couldn't recall having ordered anything from them since and I was racking my brains. After much anguish and prayer I had reached the conclusion that I should simply wait and see what turned up...

Ditto - I guess most/all of us! I decided not to click on the link to see what it was just in case their database had been compromised.

Something similar happened with the 1st Edition for me, so I just ignored it this time around.
