1884 Andresen Colheita
Andresen 1884; from the appearance of the bottle this is likely to have been bottled around 20-25 years from the vintage. Slightly cloudy, deep honey brown. From eye, nose and mouth this might well be or include a substantial amount of White Port. A little closed on the nose but showing some sweetened quince. A lovely expressive on the palate. Honey and coffee, tannins give a dry edge to the wine. Gentle quince flavours to the acidity fill the mouth and give a lovely set of flavours. Quince and lemon aftertaste with a length that is so surprising given the age of the wine. 89/100. Changing and developing so well, improving with time in the glass. Drunk 14-Oct-22. Decanted ½ hour.
