1979 Borges

Russet brown, looking very mature. About 20% opaque. Clover honey on the nose, with some sweet rose hip. Light and elegant on the palate, very gentle tannins. Sweet and very floral. A little coffee in the rose hip on the aftertaste. Lightweight but so elegant - a much better wine than expected from the reputation of either the vintage or the producer. Sweet, gentle and delightful. A mature but very pleasurable Port.  90/100. Drunk 11-Nov-22. Decanted 5 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
