1950 Cockburn

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Very light and evolved appearance, less than 10% opaque. Little shows on the nose, perhaps a touch of library dust and a hint of raspberry jam. Gentle and sweet on entry. Despite the pale colour the wine delivers an excellent intense cranberry and light honey. The perfect levels of acidity match the fruit and create an excellent palate and finish - although the finish is a little shorter than desirable. 89/100. tasted 30-Oct-22. Decanted 4 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
