1976 Graham Single Harvest Tawny (bottled 2020)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Graham Single Harvest Tawny 1976, bottled in 2020 as one of the wines to be included in the Graham’s 200th Anniversary Cabinet. A light polished olive wood in colour, 40% opaque. A lovely nose of cedar shavings and beeswax, delightfully effusive. Surprisingly gentle on the palate, elegant acidity creates a little clove heat within a gentle honey and lemon palate. The lemon oil builds up nicely on the late palate and dominates the aftertaste. A little tannin gives a dry edge to the aftertaste but quickly fades to leave a very, very long lemon and lime oil finish. Delicious! 94/100. Pop and pour. 25-Apr-23.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
