A rich and youthful red with an opaque centre and a wide rim. Bright, fresh fruit on the nose with the alcohol a little unintegrated. Lovely leisurely black fruit, a lively menthol spicing up the black fruit lozenge. A long, sweet, black fruit lozenge finish rounds off this wonderful wine, a wine which is drinking very well today but has decades of life ahead of it. 91/100. Decanted 18 hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
