2005 Warre Cavadinha

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

WC05, deep red with a narrow rim and lots of sediment! Fragrant bubble gum nose. Lovely soft tannins support a generous plum jam palate. Slightly bitter and tannic tone to the fruit on the aftertaste slowly fades to a warm and spicy finish. Another Port I’d like to come back to in 5-10 years. 84/100.

Tasted at the Warre Cavadinha Vertical on 28th March 2023.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
