2006 Warre Cavadinha

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

WC06, decanted 1 day. A lovely rose red colour with a medium rim. Attractive baked bramble on the nose, with a surprising element of Ogen melon. Nicely balanced texture on entry. Refined dark bramble fruit backed by firm but balanced tannins giving a lovely chewiness to the fruit. Dark cocktail cherry aftertaste, dark chocolate and grape jelly finish. This is a lovely drink at this stage of its development. 90/100.

Tasted at the Warre Cavadinha Vertical on 28th March 2023.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

WC06. Dark dark dark red, 80% opaque. Dry; hot; some black fruit, less than neighbours.
