Decanted at 09.00 and drunk at 19.00. Mature gentle rose red colour, 30% opaque. A little bottle stink on the nose at first along with some red fruit.
Nice texture on the palate, smooth with fruit that is sweet and gentle. The tannins are nicely integrated into the fruit and take part in the long, warm and fragrant finish. Happily there is no sign of the bottle stink on the palate. 87/100. Tasted at the Port Forum Awards 07-Feb-23. Decanted 10 hours.

SW70, decanted 09:00. gloriousred, 35% opaque. Nose sticky. Palate, alas, dirty. I expressed hope that it would clean up, but took no later note.
Re: 1970 Smith Woodhouse
45% opacity, warm red. Dusty nose, red fruit. Gentle heat, red fruit, slightly one-dimensional, dustiness on the palate - the full power feels a little cloaked and muted. TCA?
