2007 Quinta do Noval

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

An ex-cellars bottle drunk at Quinta do Noval with Carlos Agrellos and Patricia Bastos at dinner on the second night of our two night stay.

Noval 2007 VP: the red of early maturity, medium rim. Sweet bramble fruit on the nose. Bramble fruit on the palate, great structure. Plenty of acidity and with tannins still holding in the wine. Such a lively, spiced aftertaste and a long, long finish. The finish moves through multiple phases. Such a satisfying - but young - Port. Drinking astonishingly well with a 90 minute decant. 92/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
