Recorked in 2001 using a cork branded "Vintage 1966 Recorked 2001" but with no indication of the shipper. Luckily this recently ex-cellars bottle came with a pristine label. Dark copper-red in colour, 40% opaque. Limited showing on the nose, a little dark red fruit and a touch of dark chocolate. The fruit on the palate is surprisingly young, a lovely mouthful of dark cherry - power rather than the finesse I normally associate with Ferreira. The aftertaste is wonderful, full of Blackjack fruit gums and red liquorice. A very, very lovely wine. 94/100. Decanted 2½ hours.

Lifted nose of fruit. A lovely sweet port.
