1962 Quinta do Noval Nacional

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red tone, looking to be in early maturity; 90% opaque. A lovely nose of deep red fruit - raspberries perhaps? Sweet fruit leads on the palate, a delicious blend of strawberry jam and plum; big and vivacious. Plum and lavender on the aftertaste, with the lavender dominating the finish. This is a fruit dominated, rounded and smooth Port only now starting to show a few signs of secondary flavours. Served blind, guessed to be Tesco 1994. 89/100. Drunk 28-Dec-23.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
