1963 Sandeman

A soft rose red colour, 60% opaque. Subdued on the nose, a little dusty fruit. A lovely sensation of focused fruit on the palace, coming with a nice grip, youthful but with delicious signs of early maturity. Superb fruit on the aftertaste leading to a lingering raspberry finish along with some rosewater, tangerines and some cocktail cherry. Absolutely superb. Served blind, this was guessed to be Dow 1970. 93/100. Drunk 28-Dec-23.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
