2000 Quarles Harris

Post by jdaw1 »

As organised by George G., on Monday 10th February 2025, Some of the usual folks gathered in the Boot & Flogger, for a horizontal of 2000s.

Woe betide! What has become of us‽ A horizontal of Port from this century. Yes yes, the world has other disasters afoot, but this disaster is afoot here: what has become of us‽

Pleasant spicy wine. Star anise note reminiscent of the 1977.

Looking to be in early maturity, 30% opaque. Gently fragrant nose of fresh berry fruit. Tight, slightly sour fruit on the palate; medium bodied and fragrant. Gentle tannins on the aftertaste and finish. Good length. 87/100
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
