Tasted at the Churchill lodge in Gaia, alongside the 2012 bottling.
Red brick, opaque to the rim.
Redcurrants, strawberries and a little cranberry on the nose. Some acidity cutting through the sweetness.
An elegant entry to the palate with red and black cherries leading the way, followed by a raspberry compote. Quite aggressively tannic on the mid palate but not unpleasantly so. Lots of orange acidity which washes away the fruit. Tobacco in the finish along with a slightly sharp sour cherry note. This tastes very young for a 2007 bottling of a Crusted and seems like a wine that could have a good amount of cellar time. Good to maybe V good.
