Maia 1970: light, heat mid-palate, soft, and very long. My positive surprise of the flight, to which I gave a point.

Pale rim. Nose a bit hot. Palate rather pleasant, if a bit elderly.

1970 Douro Wine Shippers & Growers Association, bottled under the Maia label. Almost entirely hollow on the nose, but the palate is better with a little jellied fruit, some basil leaf and a pleasant gentle spiciness. Soft and sweet red fruit on the palate with a lingering loganberry jam. Not bad Port, but lacking on the nose. 85/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
