1970 Palmer Colheita (bottled 2021)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

1970 Palmer, bottled 2021 in 75cl. An identical dark brown to the Maynard served alongside. On the palate the wine is a little fresher than the Maynard but there is a similar concentration and acidity. A little more elegant and balanced than the Maynard, but not to the extent that I believe this is a different wine - I think it is the same wine as the Maynard but cellared in slightly different conditions for the last few years. 93/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
