1970 Quevedo White Colheita (bottled 2019)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

1970 Quevedo White Colheita “Very Old White Port” bottled in 2019. 75cl. Open 30 minutes. A darker orange colour compared to the Devesa 1970 tasted alongside. Orange caramel on the nose. Slightly thickened texture but this is a wine which hits the palate with joyous acidity. There is a beautiful balance to the wine, ripe orange with the bitterness of the orange oil shining through. Phenomenal volume to the orange oil finish. Glorious and exuberant, even after 6 years in bottle. Stunning. 95/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
