Cr70: glorious red, 50% opaque; bright maraschino cherries, lovely silky balance, mid weight. Improved with time in the glass.

1970 Croft. Slightly cloudy, slightly transparent. Virtually closed on the nose but the palate is nicer with a sweet quince fruit balanced by a gentle lemon acidity. There is a little complexity on the palate, and the finish is rather nice with several layers of flavour fading in and out of consciousness. 88/100. Double decanted 5 hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Note taken on 12/10/25 from sample kindly bottled on night. Nice colour - bright red. Sweet cherry port with attractive tinned red fruit palate. Fully mature - perhaps missing a bit of freshness. Tangy aftertaste. Very pleasant.
