Sb70: orange, 15% opaque; intensely acidic — no.

Just don’t. Children: in life you make choices with consequences. Make better choices than this.

1970 Quinta do Síbio from Real Companhia Vinicola do Norte de Portugal. Slightly cloudy, dark orange appearance. Baked coffee cream on the nose. Creamed coffee on the palate with a hint of orange on the mid-palate. Dry and dusty orange peel on the late palate. A little burst of heat on the aftertaste, Werther’s Originals and orange oil on a very long finish. Sadly, the delicious finish is not enough to redeem the wine. 87/100. Double decanted 8 hours. Oporto bottled.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

[Sample taken on night and consumed on 13/10/25] Cloudy appearance. Various shades from yellow to orange to brown. Smells like the effluent at the bottom of a food recycling bin after a warm week. Almost entrancingly unpleasant. Goblins might like it. Palate actually better than the nose, merely horrible.
