1992 Quinta do Vesuvio

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

A bottle from CMAG's Vesuvio 10th Anniversary Case, opened on Wednesday 13th February 2019.

Bottle number 22042. Deep red colour but with a brick tone; opaque centre and a medium rim — much darker than the earlier vintages. Fresh fruit on the nose, with lots of strawberry and restrained dark cherry fruit. Deep chalky, black cherry dominates the palate. The Port is a little unbalanced but full of promise with a lingering dark cherry. Very tasty. 90/100. 13-Feb-19. Decanted 3 hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
