1931 Noval

Post by winesecretary »

Tannins and even a hint on mint on the nose. Full, plummy fruit on the mid-palate, with characteristic old Noval mi-cuit fig. No hint of heat on the finish but a gentle warmth. A good but not outstanding bottle of this still-lovely port. I encouraged even the people on GLP-1 to finish their glasses of this one, and they did.

Well it is a Saturday night in dry January. Someone has already sent me a photo of the Taylor 1920 the are drinking and now George is teasing us with his placeholder!

I’m off to the cellar…
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
