D70, decanted 16:00. Dark red, 60% opaque. Palate of dry cherry, big, rounded, tip-top Port. Very long. I added lots of words of praise: lovely, big, soft, fantastic. My, but only my, WOTN.

Mature red colour, 70% opaque. A delightful spicy nose, piquant and fruity at the same time. Gentle and balanced entry bringing soft fruit with lots of heat. Big and spicy on the aftertaste with a long liquorice and aniseed finish. Very flavoursome. Served blind, this was guessed to be Warre 1970. 90/100. Decanted 2½ hours.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
