30% opacity, mature dull red centre, amber rim. Faint oranges on the nose. Smooth entry, very gentle heat mid palate, oranges - very over-ripe, burnt. Long aftertaste, lovely balance.

Going oldest to youngest this was the first of the Ports to show a little red in the tone, a pale rose colour and 20% opaque. Rose perfume and some dirty redcurrant on the nose. A lovely thick texture, quite youthful with some primary fruit. Lots of red jelly making a very pleasant mouthful and a delicious fruit jelly finish. 88/100. Decanted 3 hours.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
