45% opacity, warm full red. Full mouthfeel, gentle acidity, still some tannins, unripe red fruit, dryness in the finish.

Deep red with some hints of bricking, 70% opaque. Sweet red liquorice on the nose with a touch of smokiness. Sweet fruits lead on the entry with lots of tannin giving a dry hit on the mid-palate. A touch of blackcurrant shows on the mid-palate, which is a surprisingly young touch on a mature Port. Dry aftertaste, with lots of flavour and power. The finish is terrific, full of bramble fruit. Needs more time to integrate and soften. 88/100. Decanted 9 hours.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
