1994 Fonseca. Dark red with a medium rim. Rich and expressive fruit on the nose, lavender perfume with hawthorn fruit and black cherry. Smooth texture entry, rich black cherry with just a little creaminess to the fruit. The acidity shines through on the aftertaste, but never dominates the fruit. The harmony of the wine is astonishing, the fruit smooth but still with so much vibrancy and youth. Absolutely fabulous. The sweetness and lusciousness of the fruit is just glorious. 97/100.
