1955 Fonseca. A little more evolved in appearance than the 1948, a touch more bronze and a little less opaque at about 50%. Lovely spiced dried fruit in the nose, promising much for the taste. A lovely smoothness on the palate, a little lighter with less intensity of fruit. Delicious citrus aftertaste, with a hint of cedar in the fruit on the finish. 92/100.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: DR Very Old White, Graham Stone Terraces 2011, Quevedo Branco 1986 b.2026
