Hello everyone,
I’m offering two bottles of 1927 Vinho do Porto Velho labeled “Garrafeira Particular – Armando Borrajo – Régua.”
Details:
Vintage: 1927
Region: Douro Valley (Peso da Régua)
Bottle size: 750ml
Wax capsules stamped “1927”
Both bottles appear to have mid-shoulder fills and intact wax capsules.
This appears to be a private bottling originating from the Douro region, which was a common practice for merchants or cellar owners who bottled older Port stocks. Given as a business present to the owner. Want to get them off his hands.
Photos attached.
Price:
$395 per bottle
or
$695 for the pair
Happy to answer questions or provide additional photos.

Provenance known by the current owner: "All of the bottles were presented as gifts to my father years ago during a couple of business trips he made to Portugal when he was employed at the Hoover Co. in North Canton, Ohio. As for storage, the bottles have, for the past several years, been in a wood cabinet in my parents' basement (even temperature and stable humidity) and are part of an estate cleanout that the family is working on."
Ill get the owner to possibly put a date on those visits to understand since when they bottles have been in their family.

This label appears fairly frequently at auction in Portugal - 1927, 1960 and I believe other years that I cannot recall off the top of my head. I bought and consumed two or three bottles a couple of years ago, out of curiosity if nothing else.
